GRADUATE FOG IS ONE YEAR OLD TODAY
Today, this website celebrates our first fantastic year!
During the last 12 months, Graduate Fog has become the place for job-seeking graduates to find no-bullshit editorial, comment and analysis of the issues that matter to you the most.
Sure, there are a lot of careers websites out there – but time and again you tell me that Graduate Fog is unique. Why? Because we don’t do nice, safe, boring careers articles that you’ve all read 100 times before. We cover the stories that graduates are really talking about – and raise the questions you are really asking.
I am massively proud of what we have achieved this year. I never wanted to run a careers website that sent its users to sleep – and I knew you didn’t want that either. I wanted a site that would shake things up and make us all think.
I also LOVE that in the last year we have managed to piss off so many people. To my mind, that only proves that we are doing here is important. Call me a weirdo, but the days we end up having a massive row are the days I go home happiest.
In recent months, I have also felt the growing sense that Graduate Fog is no longer my website – but is is becoming your website. And that’s exactly what I want. So let me give a massive ‘THANK YOU!’ to all Graduate Fog’s users – that’s everybody who’s ever read, commented on or contributed to an article on this website.
Whether you only stop by occasionally or comment on every post – your presence is very welcome and much appreciated. Stop by again soon. I’ll promise I’ll do my best to make sure we’re having another big row…
PS. Haven’t got me a gift? That’s okay – please show your love for this site by RTing my Tweets and telling your friends about Graduate Fog! With a marketing budget of zero, I need your help to spread the word…
Happy belated birthday to you! Well done on your efforts in the past 12 months. I’m inspired by your commitment, drive and enthusiasm. Oh, and a great book too which has inspired much of my work with graduates.
Mark
Happy Birthday Graduate Fog the arguments are my favourite pieces too!
Happy Birthday Graduate Fog, It was nice to read up on the cases in the UK. I really hope I can keep comming back here to see an improvement over time for my fellow graduates in the UK :).
Merry Birthday Grad Fog! I think I visit here more often than it’s updated! Whoops! I like how ‘real’ this site is. Keep telling it like it is!
@MarkAnderson @Joddle @Dehnus @Michael
Thanks for your birthday wishes! Please keep supporting the site and spreading the word about Graduate Fog. The bigger our tribe, the louder we can shout! xx
I literally don’t shut up about this site 😀 a great way to promote the site would be through student union advertising (I think), like kinda viral posters outside, I always found those strange, subliminal and minimal posters, ‘speaking the truth’ quite persuasive- I might be every marketer’s dream. But seriously spreading the word while people are still at uni could be effective, careers advisers would have something to say then,
”Grad Fog – the forbidden fruit”
Happy birthday and congratulations on a great year! Keep up the good work. You have my full support!
It only feels like yesterday when we did that interview! Happy birthday!
Love the poster idea. Forbidden fruit indeed! (And happy belated birthday xx)
Thanks graduate fog your jobboard has definite3ly had the biggest impact on the graduate unemployment figures, I have seen at least 2 roles posted in the past year- unbelievable work.
