TOP TUTOR LAUNCHES NO-NONSENSE ONE-TO-ONE ADVICE CLASSES (SKYPE SESSIONS AVAILABLE FOR CLIENTS OUTSIDE LONDON)
Life isn’t easy for today’s university graduates. Facing a tough job market littered with unpaid internships but few proper, paid jobs, many twentysomethings are struggling to bridge the gap between graduation and that elusive first job.
And for graduates who haven’t yet picked their career, the options are even more baffling. Take another course? Volunteer? Go travelling? Parents are desperate to help — but how can they, when today’s job market looks so different from the one they entered when they were young?
Finding a quality private graduate career coach in London (or anywhere in the UK) has been tough – until now. Reacting to a spike in demand for personal, practical, up-to-date, no-nonsense graduate careers advice, Tanya de Grunwald, author of How to Get a Graduate Job Now and founder of careers website Graduate Fog, now offers one-to-one private graduate careers coaching in the form of this new mini-course: “What next? Advice for Recent Graduates.”
This three-step programme is grounded in Tanya’s experience of advising thousands of graduates over the last decade, on Graduate Fog, the Guardian Careers forum and at live careers advice events including the Guardian London Graduate Fair and New Scientist Live.
STEP 1: Initial assessment (email Q&A)
Highly focused questions coax crucial information from you, including what is working and what isn’t. From this, Tanya will build a profile of your current situation, analysing progress so far, identifying factors that are blocking your progress, and brainstorming new ideas for fresh approaches.
STEP 2: 45 minute recorded Skype* consultation
Structured, recorded session between you and Tanya, in which Tanya shares her expert analysis of your Q&A. Together, you will discuss sticking points and unpack any unhelpful beliefs that are holding you back. This consultation will also cover deeper discussion of the next steps available to you, depending on your confidence level, career interests and goals.
STEP 3: 10 point action plan
Following the consultation, Tanya will create a personalised, 10 point summary action plan for you to keep and use for ongoing reference. Together with the recording of your consultation, you will feel confident that you have all the tools you need to take your career forward from here.

TOUGH LOVE: Tanya’s unique approach balances sensitivity and understanding with a no-nonsense focus on creating an action plan to get your graduate career started

AND WHAT PARENTS SAY…
“Nearly 50 job applications later, my graduate son said ‘This isn’t working.’ He was either being rejected, or not hearing back. With Tanya’s advice, we changed tack.
